Recently there has been increasing discussions and debate around gender and gender roles in our communities. This study is designed for grade nine students and focuses heavily on interpersonal relationships. Students at this age are intertwining complex relationships in their lives and need to understand the subtle nuances of society to navigate them ethically. This is a topic that is extremely relevant to students and therefore reflects an authentic inquiry question. Students knowledge and beliefs are tested through this unit, while they think critically, form their identities, and become ethical citizens.
